SYNOPSIS:

There’s no police training stronger than a cop’s instinct. Faith Mitchell’s mother isn’t answering her phone. Her front door is open. There’s a bloodstain above the knob. Her infant daughter is hidden in a shed behind the house. All that the Georgia Bureau of Investigations taught Faith Mitchell goes out the window when she charges into her mother’s house, gun drawn. She sees a man dead in the laundry room. She sees a hostage situation in the bedroom. What she doesn’t see is her mother. . . .

“You know what we’re here for. Hand it over, and we’ll let her go.”

When the hostage situation turns deadly, Faith is left with too many questions, not enough answers. To find her mother, she’ll need the help of her partner, Will Trent, and they’ll both need the help of trauma doctor Sara Linton. But Faith isn’t just a cop anymore—she’s a witness. She’s also a suspect.

The thin blue line hides police corruption, bribery, even murder. Faith will have to go up against the people she respects the most in order to find her mother and bring the truth to light—or bury it forever.

Karin Slaughter’s most exhilarating novel yet is a thrilling journey through the heart and soul, where the personal and the criminal collide, and conflicted loyalties threaten to destroy reputations and ruin lives. It is the work of a master of the thriller at the top of her game, and a whirlwind of unrelenting suspense.

REVIEW: This book is just action packed from the very beginning. Full of secrets waiting to be discovered, suppressed passion, murder, gangs, gun fights, love and terror. It is captivating and i could not keep away from it from the moment i read the first page until the very last.. Karin Slaughter is an amazing writer, makes you enjoy and experience the experiences along with the characters, and on that note the characters are not wildly perfect, they are damaged yet you can see a light with in them. I just loved reading this book and would suggest that you read it. 🙂

The Most anticipated book of 2013…

Women around the world are waiting impatiently and anxiously waiting for this particular book.. Having read the first 2 which ended in so much drama and so many questions in the air i can say that this is the most anticipated book of the next year.

The book I am talking about is “Entwined with you”  by Sylvia day.. The 3rd and possibly last book in the Crossfire trilogy. I say possibly last because when the author was asked if this will be the last book she stated:

“Well… as I’m still writing Entwined with You I can’t say for sure. Crossfire is supposed to be a trilogy and if everything works out, it still will be. But Gideon has a lot to work through, and after all he and Eva have endured to reach their happy ending I don’t want to rush it. So if it’s best, I’ll write a fourth installment. But I won’t unnecessarily drag the story out beyond its natural end”

Like i said, this book is a 3rd one in this series. All of the books in this trilogy are a steamy read that will have you furiously flipping pages.? ? Glamour ?I can’t wait to see what happens next to Gideon and Eva.? ? The Book Reading Gals ?When it comes to brewing up scorchingly hot sexual chemistry, Day has few literary rivals.? ? Booklist ?

. The first book called ” Bared to you” was amazing.

Synopsis: He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily…

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds…and desires. The bonds of his love transformed me, even as i prayed that the torment of our pasts didn’t tear us apart…

The second book is ” Reflected in you”.. was even more so addictive

Synopsis: Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t want to. He was my addiction?my every desire?mine. My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We?d never work. It was too hard, too painful?except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession?

And the most awaited of all is “Entwined with you” which promises to be a riveting read.

Here is a snippet from the book :

Disclaimer: May be edited or deleted prior to publication…

“What the hell was I supposed to do, Eva? I didn’t know you were out there.” Gideon’s voice deepened, roughened. “If I’d known, I would’ve hunted you down. I wouldn’t have waited a second to find you. But I didn’t know, and I settled for less. So did you. We both wasted ourselves on the wrong people.”

(from a conversation about past relationships)

Doesnt that just make you wish you could find out whats next in the journey of Gideon and Eva.. :-/

The release day for this book is May 2013

REVIEW:

I am one of those people who jumped into the wagon of “Fifty Shades Of Grey”( i actually read the whole trilogy) and i loved it completely, so when i saw this book being promoted out to lovers of “Fifty Shades” i was a bit skeptical because i thought no book could possibly compare and the ones that tried where all about sex and no story line, then i read the first one ( this is a trilogy “crossfire trilogy”) Bared to you and i was captivated, entranced, captured by it to the point of no understanding and when i finished it i started on this one straight away and ooh my goodness gracious i was caught by the throat strangled by the love of this book.

The emotional rawness between Gideon and Eva struck a chord with me. The need to know how these star-crossed lovers would get to their happy ever after was as visceral as breathing.

Reflected In You begins where Bared To You ended and it quickly drew me in to the lives and love of Gideon and Eva. Gideon is still master of his world and Eva is included in that. He is still gorgeous, his sexual prowess are still off-the-chart intense, he is still emotionally twisted but he also tries very hard to make the love work between him and Eva. Eva is aware of her strengths and flaws, she wants to do things in her own way and this clashes with Gideon’s need to control. Her insecurities play a big part in this story and will be recognizable for many readers. She is vibrant, fun but also just as emotionally twisted as Gideon.

All these insecurities were magnified by the feelings Gideon and Eva were battling with. Because their love is as dark as it is intense as it is passionate and it is imbued with a raw hunger that is undeniable. I can’t even begin to phantom how Sylvia Day found the words to relay the depth and intensity of the romance to the reader, the fact is, she did! The effect of her writing skill made me get that feeling if Gideon and Eva can work through their issues it will be an everlasting love. Or if they don’t, it will be a catastrophe of the heart and soul, devastating two people. To match the emotions there is the physical fire between this couple. The stamina of Gideon and Eva is mind-boggling but scorching to read! All they feel is poured in to the moments when they have wild ‘I can’t get enough of you’ sex. The steam almost rose from the pages, either that or my glasses fogged over! The eroticism, Sylvia Day imbues in to Reflected In You matches the rawness of the love between Gideon and Eva. It is an addictive combination I couldn’t get enough of.

The romance also contained almost insurmountable problems for the main pair to overcome. The words “trust me” and “wait” frustrated me as much as it did Eva. Trust is very hard for Eva and her reactions to what she witnesses is easy to understand. The actions of Gideon cause for major suspicion and riddle the plot with many questions. The plot development is tautly written but gave very little information up to a point I was a very frustrated reader. It was the kind of frustration where I wanted to get to know how it all connected, which wasn’t bad, but the need to know why and how drove me insane at some points. The first person narration contributed to that as well. I loved seeing it all from Eva’s point of view and through lots of dialogues I got a connection with Gideon as well. But Gideon was keeping secrets, many secrets. And it took a long while for me to understand him. I will say that the effect from the plot is definitely in the tail and the impact it had was one sweet ride and connected everything for me. The romance, the angst, the individual actions, it suddenly all made sense to me and I felt a new degree of investment for the cast of characters in the Crossfire trilogy.

Gideon and Eva is whom it all revolves around but there is an equally well-defined supporting cast. Cary, who is also twisted up inside, is one I adore. His humor and friendship with Eva enriches the story in a unique way. Mark, Steven and Shawna add depth to Eva’s work and social life. Victor, Monica and Stanton are family for Eva to fall back on and the love between them is evident. They are all engaging characters the reader gets to care about.

There is nothing in, Reflected In You, that was less than stellar. It takes a gifted author whom portrays flawed by fantastic characters and a gripping storyline for me to read the entire book in one sitting. I just couldn’t let go of Gideon and Eva, they resonated with me, up to a point where I ignored the outside world in favor of the story told.

Reflected In You feels like a written vortex where the characters suck you in with their romantic ups and downs and will not let you go until the last page. The emotional and sexual hunger Gideon and Eva have for each other borders on an addiction but it is just as addictive to read!! May 2013 can’t come soon enough! I feel lost with out knowing when their happily ever after will come. But if you haven’t read it yet, you definitely need to go and grab yourself a copy right this second and get to reading! 😀

Bared To You…

SYNOPSIS

Our journey began in fire… Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness-beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily… Gideon knew . He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds… and desires. The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn’t tear us apart… “When it comes to brewing up scorchingly hot sexual chemistry, Day has few literary rivals.”

REVIEW

I absolutely loved this book, i truly could not put it down, the moment i bought it i tore through the wrapping and started reading and didnt put it down since i finished it. The story is set in the background of New York and the characters are very interesting from the very beginning of the book, they make you curious as there are many holes in the story from the start making you have a million questions and conjure up a thousand answers and “what ifs”.

The characters are more than well developed and come with a twinge of wickedness to them. You might not like some of them but they will definitely hold the whole story together. This book is not only intensely hot, it is also very sad and you go through the ups and downs with the characters as you read it.

Do have a look at it and happy super reading! 🙂

Knowing that Harriet finds Edmund attractive, he plans to explore her forbidden desires. However, Edmund has designs on Harriet, and Lewis’s plan goes awry as he finds himself competing to regain his bride.

REVIEW

Not all the characters in this book are not as evolved and as growing as i would like it to be. But it is an “OK” read, the main character evolves and changes as the twists and turns of the book give him new feelings he never thought he would have. The scenes are too set up though for my liking and not as spontaneous as i would like.

The book has the statement ” Devoured Fifty Shades? Then lose yourself in Forbidden Desires”.. which i don’t see as a real fit to the book since it is nothing like Fifty Shades Of Grey at all.. But for erotica lovers, this is the book for you.

I doubt i will be reading anything else by Marina Anderson, but like i said, if you are a fan of erotica then this is a good one for you.

Broken..

AUTHOR: Karin Slaughter

SYNOPSIS

When the body of a young woman is discovered deep beneath the icy waters of Lake Grant, a note left under a rock by the shore points to suicide. But within minutes, it becomes clear that this is no suicide. It’s a brutal, cold-blooded murder. All too soon former Grant County medical examiner Sara Linton — home for Thanksgiving after a long absence — finds herself unwittingly drawn into the case. The chief suspect is desperate to see her, but when she arrives at the local police station she is met with a horrifying sight — he lies dead in his cell, the words ‘Not me’ scrawled across the walls. Something about his confession doesn’t add up and deeply suspicious of the detective in charge, Lena Adams, Sara immediately calls the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Shortly afterwards, Special Agent Will Trent is brought in from his vacation to investigate. But he is immediately confronted with a wall of silence. Grant County is a close-knit community with loyalties and ties that run deep. And the only person who can tell the truth about what really happened is dead.

REVIEW

In Karin Slaughter’s tenth novel, she combines the characters from her two ongoing detective series, who come together to help solve a series of murders in the small town of Heartsdale, in Grant County, Georgia.( You do not need to have read the previous 2 novels to enjoy and understand this one though)

The mystery of the killings is solved at the end, but that never really seems to be the point of a Slaughter book. Rather, the process of criminal investigation provides a framework for Slaughter to explore the flawed, complex characters who work on the cases.

Slaughter never portrays the human condition in black or white – her ability to create realistic, three-dimensional characters is what makes her work stand out from so many other authors in this genre.

At the end of the book, the characters remain broken, but they’ve moved on to a new day and a new resolve to cope in a world full of bashed dreams.

If you are a reader of suspense novels, pick up Karin Slaughter.

The prequel to Forbidden Desires

REVIEW

I personally never read erotic novels, and to tell the truth i did not think it would be such..( i had an idea but it by far surpassed my thoughts). The story is one which could be somewhat interesting if not for the many sultry scenes. The storyline is well formed, but it is basically formed around the sex scenes. Characters are highly manipulative and develop as the story continues. It is very disturbing and keeps you interested to see where the story leads.

But i believe it is rather predictable, through out the entire time reading it i could tell where the story was heading, but of course with a twist and surprise ending at the end i was very satisfied and shocked.

They say on the cover “You’ve devoured Fifty Shades . . . now dive in to the wild intensity of Dark Secret” but i would not suggest this read for the people who enjoyed 50 shades( as i did), because they are both erotic, but 50 shades is for romantics and this one is for those who just want some steamy, sexy, raunchy scenes.. 🙂

REVIEW

This is not the kind of book i usually read, but i like to try out new genres so i started with this one. The book is set in a make believe place but the characters are very well developed and it keeps you interested and you do not see the twists and turns that sneak up on you through out the book.

The story line is alright, but i believe it could have been better, i particularly did not enjoy the ending, i felt it left many questions unanswered needless to say though, i did enjoy the book. I would say try it out and expect great surprises. 🙂
