BLURB:
They say time heals all wounds …
…but time hasn’t been on my side.
My life has been carefully planned, ever since the day I graduated from art school and left my carefree, party girl identity behind. I got the job as a professional muralist for New York’s wealthiest citizens, and I had the perfect relationship with a man I wanted to start a family with.
Five years later, I’m single, barely employed, and thousands of dollars in debt to New York’s best infertility treatment center.
It turns out the only thing I couldn’t control was my body—it betrayed me and left me with a diagnosis of untreatable, inexplicable, devastating infertility.
When a cowboy billionaire appears out of the blue, offering an exorbitant amount of money for a job I can complete in a month, there’s no question that I’m hopping on a plane to New Mexico.
It’s the perfect opportunity to forget the family I’ll never have.
But when the limo rolls up to Rowan Corbett’s estate in the middle of nowhere, I know that there’s one more thing I won’t be able to control. With thick black hair, sapphire eyes, and a jawline that could cut steel, Rowan looks like he just stepped out of a wild west book from fifty years ago.
As the weeks go by… I start to wonder, can love be the cure I’m looking for?
REVIEW:
It’s been a while since i have read a fantastic interracial romance novel. And lately it has been so hard to find a good one, but I have always enjoyed Imani King’s creations, so when I saw this one I went in with high expectations. And as usual she did not disappoint.
I loved Rowan and Cadence. Given all that Cadence went through as a result of her infertility issues, it was hard not to like her and cheer for her happy ending. Rowan is exactly what Cadence needed. What I liked most about him is that he’s not your typical billionaire and that he was willing to do whatever to show Cadence they belonged together. I’m glad that he didn’t let Cadence push him away. This was an enjoyable read that will leave a smile on your face. Very light read and not a lot of angst, which was even better for me because I am taking a break from those angsty, heart wrenching reads.
It does not hurt that the love scenes are hotter than fire also.. 😉
